What to Pack for a Beach Vacation with a Toddler
Going to the beach with a toddler can be daunting but being prepared definitely helps. We are fortunate to have a beach 2 hours away, so we love to do a day trip or weekend trip. So after a many trips, I made this list to help y’all out with some things I love bringing for my toddler.
Items I love for Beach Days with Toddlers
One: Baby Cabana– I bought this when Yani was 6 months and it has worked so well! She still uses it as a two and a half year old. There is no assembly. It just pops right open and you can zipper them in, which is excellent if they are napping at the beach. As a toddler, Yani likes to play with her toys inside of it.
Two: Foldable Beach Chair– I purchased this chair at the end of last summer and it was at game changer! She loved having her own chair to sit in and hang out. When it was snack time, we attached the tray and she was able to eat her snacks independently. The chair is entirely washable and comes with straps to add to dining room chairs to use as a portable highchair. This chair is perfect for vacation because you can easily use it in the hotel room as a travel highchair.
Three: Beach toys– This is totally obvious but I included it here because I love the mesh bag this comes with. The mesh bag makes it easier to get the sand out of the toys and not bring it back to your car.
Four: Blue Lizard Sunscreen- This is the best mineral-based sunscreen. Paraben and fragrance-free. It works well with sensitive skin. It blends into the skin really easily.
Five: Sunglasses with Strap– These sunglasses are a game changer. My daughter has had them since she was six months and uses them now without the straps. But when she was younger the strap kept her from taking them on and off (for the most part haha.)
Six: Pool Floaty– This floaty is fantastic! Do not use it in the ocean, it is strictly for the pool and is good for up to 35 lbs. It is so easy to blow up and deflate. My daughter used it more when she was younger but now she uses regular floaties while playing in the water.
