10 Ways to Create a Happier You in 2019

1. Set aside time every week for special ‘ME’ time.

Whether it be an hour to read a book, having a bubble bath or watching your favorite movie. That special time alone will reset your clock and allow for mental clarity.

2. Go to sleep when you feel tired.

Do not try to fight rest because it will back up and have a longer negative impact on your productivity. You may get sleepy at 7:30 one night and going to bed that early is what your body needs. This will help stabilize your mood and increase your daily productivity.

3. At the end of each night journal 3 things you’re thankful for that day.

By the end of the year you will have 1,095 happy memories that you can reflect on.

4. Forget about the destination and enjoy the moment.

Sometimes we get so caught up in rushing for everything that we forget to enjoy the moment. These can be moments with family and friends or moments alone. Slowing down makes us appreciate the process a little bit more.

5. Pay closer attention to nature.

When you go outside look at the trees, the sky, the flowers, feel the wind touch your face. These are nature’s little magical reminders that we are small humans in a large world.

6. Smile at strangers.

This is a contagious action that can change anyone’s mood. It can also help lift your mood at the same time!

7. Create and meet your goals.

Nothing is more satisfying than achieving your goals, no matter if they are big or small.

8. Liberate yourself from other people’s opinion.

You can do, wear, eat, exercise whatever and whenever you want.

9. Accept the things you cannot change.

But if there is something you can change AND want to change, then do it.

10. Lastly, do not assign your happiness to anyone else. Your happiness is your own creation.
